Finalizing our Adoption!! (pics)

We had an incredible judge -- who commended our family and our faith

Long time no post... no real excuses, except I feel like so many things could be said. Big news: after just 4 1/2 months home, we have finalized the stateside adoption of Zinash and Yoseph! We are so excited to have their names officially deemed, their new birth certificates on the way, and all the paperwork completed to make paperwork life easier for them in the future!! Nothing was going to stop them from being 'ours', but this process helps them obtain SSNs and American passports, as I understand it.

We went to the Family Law Annex of the courthouse last Friday, and we were joined by our lawyer and members of five other families we love! Our kids decided to wear traditional Ethiopian clothing to celebrate the combination of culture and ceremony... or maybe just because they look so awesome wearing it?? (Except for Yosey, who cannot fit in his any longer.) -- Here are some more pics. Special thanks to the families who wanted to come, but couldn't. Huge thanks to the Yarbrough, Edwards, Wastradowski, Kobilan, and Ferguson families who made it there with us! What joy and precious memories we'll have when we reflect on this day!

Z and E with three of the Kobilan girls (our wonderful neighbors!)

Us with 5 of the Kobilans -- Thanks Kathy for being videographer!

Three of the Yarbroughs (including Anna, home from Russia just 6 weeks after Y and Z arrived from ET)

With the Fergusons (minus Andy)

Us with the Edwards Girls (minus Todd)!

Our Mrs. Kay brought balloons!!

We were so sad to miss your special day! Matthew had just taken his "Marry Poppins" ride down the stairs and was so swollen and bruised it was best for him that we stayed home. We were thinking about you and praying for like crazy! How wonderfully comforting to have you now officially be a family of 6! Love you guys!

I love all of the pictures! Man, your daughters are GORGEOUS! Is Keith scared to death? Seriously, you all need to talk to my dad about some rules when they start dating!

Your family is incredibly beautiful and such a testiment to so many of God's call to our lives through adoption.

BTW, the Yoseph and Zinash's hair looks great! Did you braid hers or twist it? I can't tell, but it looks fabulous! What products are you using? Can't wait until Sadie has enough hair to play with!
